According to the NRG Future of Film, Snapchatters tend to make it to a movie release 1.7x more than those who don't Snap. So we thought, let's give them a reason to ride the debut wave of Dune: Part Two using the very thing they like best - an epic AR lens!
From the Desert to Your Screen: Dune AR Lens Lets You Ride Sandworms Like a Fremen
For this experience, we wanted to tap into a familiar storyline of the Dune franchise. In the movie, learning to ride a sandworm is depicted as a coming-of-age ceremony for the residents of Arrakis. It also becomes a pivotal moment for the lead's life when he joins the tribe, so we decided to welcome every Snapchatter into a Fremen by allowing them to ride the sandworm.

But having a great idea is only a part of the job. Through complex processes of 3D modeling, animation, and visual effects, we were able to recreate the best look and feel of the movie on AR. Through multiple iterations of the experience and fine-tuning of every detail we created the ultimate lens that celebrated Dune: Part Two at its best.
